Kurt Budliger's passion for
outdoor
photography grew from a life- long love and appreciation for the natural
world, as well as respect and admiration for great photographers such as Ansel
Adams, Eliot Porter and John Shaw. After graduating from
Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource
Interpretation, Kurt began teaching young people about natural history and
the importance of resource conservation. His experiences as an
environmental educator led him to pursue a Master of Science in Teaching at
the State University of New York in Plattsburgh. Kurt spent six years
teaching middle school science in central Vermont before deciding to pursue
his career in photography full-time.

advanced nature
photography with David Middleton at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography
in Missoula, Montana. Kurt currently teaches digital photography at
the Montpelier campus of the Community College of Vermont.
Kurt's landscape and nature portfolio includes numerous images of the northeast, as well as many
western states like Colorado, Montana, Utah, Washington, and Alaska.
His images have been used by organizations like the Trust for Public Land,
Two Countries One Forest, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Kurt
is a regular contributor to Vermont Magazine and his fine art prints are featured in many private collections throughout the country.
Kurt's passion for creating
images has evolved to include portrait, event, and wedding photography.
The same approach and skills Kurt uses to capture striking landscapes are
applied when photographing people; great light, strong compositions, and
respect for the subject. Kurt's wedding and portrait photography
artfully captures the authentic moments, settings, and unique personalities
of his subjects.
In 2005, Kurt Budliger
Photography joined 1% For The Planet. 1% is a coalition of
businesses that agree to donate at least one percent of annual sales to
environmental organizations working to ensure the health and biodiversity
of our planet. Kurt Budliger Photography was the first Vermont business to join this
alliance. Let's face it, each of us has some degree of negative
impact on the environment. Part of Kurt's photographic mission is to
foster appreciation for the natural world and promote the conservation and
preservation of open space. Kurt is now taking that commitment one
step further by making a financial donation to organizations working at
the grassroots level to solve some of our environmental problems. By
choosing Kurt Budliger Photography to meet your photographic needs you
will be participating in this great endeavor. For
